AUDITIONS
FOR 2009-2010 CONCERT SEASON
Ars Nova Singers

Auditions for all voice parts will be held from June 30 through July 17.To schedule an audition, please follow these steps:

1) Please review the information and preliminary season rehearsal/performance schedule on this 3-page PDF. Note that participation in Ars Nova does not require you to commit to every project during the season. It IS required that you be able to commit to all of the scheduled performances for each project.

2) If the schedule is possible for you, please e-mail a brief choral/vocal resume to Tom Morgan, Artistic Director: tom@arsnovasingers.org. Please list the highlights of your choral work in the last 5 years, major voice teachers, etc. An individual audition will then be scheduled for qualified candidates.

3) The 20-minute auditions will include one prepared song (any language, no jazz/gospel/pop music please), sight-reading, tonal memory, and general vocalizations. An accompanist is provided.

4) To be considered for a paid position, please bring two prepared solo pieces, in different languages, from the art song, oratorio, or opera repertoire.

The roster for the season is expected to be announced by July 27, 2009. All singers will be notified of audition results. A ranked list of alternate singers will also be posted for each voice section.

Auditions will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1419 Pine Street in downtown Boulder. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings (7:00-9:45 pm), with occasional Tuesday rehearsals (especially in concert weeks).
